Optimal Partitions of Strings: A New Class of Burrows-Wheeler Compression Algorithms

The Burrows-Wheeler transform [1] is one of the mainstays of lossless data compression. In most cases, its output is fed to Move to Front or other variations of symbol ranking compression. One of the main open problems [2] is to establish whether Move to Front, or more in general symbol ranking compression, is an essential part of the compression process. We settle this question positively by providing a new class of Burrows-Wheeler algorithms that use optimal partitions of strings, rather than symbol ranking, for the additional step. The objective of this article is to identify the monetary plurality in economic theory. We will try to throw light on the way in which theories are attracted towards both unicity and plurality, and more specifically by unification and diversification of money. It should also be noted, in this respect, that the economics of money has undergone considerable development since the 1970s. A survey of the diverse theories, whether mainstream or not, static or dynamic, holistic or individualistic, will reveal the surprising amount of attention devoted to the problem of monetary unicity and/or plurality. A new class of spaces with all finite powers Lindelof

We consider a new class of open covers and classes of spaces defined from them, called "iota spaces". We explore their relationship with epsilon-spaces (that is, spaces having all finite powers Lindelof) and countable network weight. An example of a hereditarily epsilon-space whose square is not hereditarily Lindelof is provided.
